The law requires them to offer you a panel of three physicians to choose from . . If they don’t offer you a panel, go where YOU CHOOSE . . .not them. Usually after three visits to a doctor, that doctor becomes your treating physician . . let it be a doctor who will help YOU . . . not the employer!!! If you are taken out of work by your treating physician, you are entitled to 66 and 2/3 of your pre-injury gross wage . . . . this is tax free. If you are under an award, the employer cannot stop paying you wage loss benefits without permission of the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission!!!! You are entitled to mileage at the current federal rate to and from the doctors, physical therapy, and diagnostic tests!!! You are entitled to prescriptions paid by the employer/insurance carrier for prescriptions related to your injury AND you can choose what pharmacy provides them!!! You are entitled to medical treatment and supplies prescribed by your treating physician related to the work injury. You may be entitled to a Permanent Impairment Rating! The carrier may hire a vocational counselor!!! You have rights!!! When the time is right, we strive to get you settlement options!!
